One of my goals/resolutions/43 things (see here for background) is to watch the top 100 movies in the IMDb's user ratings chart. A couple of days ago I printed up a list of the top 100 that I could put on my pinboard, crossing off a title at a time with a marker pen.
But as it stared me in the face, I felt a sense of growing shame. What kind of self-respecting computer geek -- or even ex-computer-geek -- uses a pen and paper to track something so structured? So I came up with something better. A visual checklist. It has stats, it looks cool, it exercised my atrophied coding muscles, and perhaps most importantly it exposes my movie hermit nature to the entire world for ridicule. Look, he hasn't even seen Jaws! What an idiot!
I know that a few of the thumbnails in the 101-250 range are incorrect or missing. (That's what happens when you let a computer do a man's job.) I'll fix those up later, but I've already done the important part -- the top 100. Those are the ones I resolved to watch. The others are included as a bonus.
I'll be updating this list periodically. Hopefully with the help of LoveFilm, I'll make significant progress towards this goal by the end of the year.
Scary, but I think you're the only person I know who hasn't seen Indiana Jones 1 AND 3. I think that Jaws is just a slight omission compared to that. ;)
Otherwise, I think my percentage wouldn't be much better, especially my knowledge of the pre-60 era is somewhat limited.
I've probably seen every scene of all three Indy movies, but since I haven't watched any of them start-to-finish in one go, I decided not to mark them. I think it should only count as 'watched' if I've had the full, sequential experience.

Your standpoint is very useful and serious and you have delivered it without concern. This takes both forward thinking and and I tip my hat off to you.
Yes, i work with plenty of people on Medicaid and they get just as good of health and dental care as I do. They go to the same offices we do and see the same doctors...it is just a type of insurance. I live in a big city, so it is not hard to find people who take it, but in rural areas it is harder due to many smaller practices not taking Medicaid
I hate people like you. I could have guessed you lived in SF before you said it. Quit your whining. I really doubt you are having difficulty breathing because some people in your building are smoking. You need to grow up. You can't always have your way. Maybe all you queers should just get your own island, then you could all get married andgive eachother AIDS.
I am getting a fatal error when i try to create a new web page on WP. I believe it has something to do with the new WP update. Is anybody else having a related issue? Know how it can be fixed??? Cheers.
