Dear The British Public,
You suck. To rank Only Fools and Horses, a sitcom that provides the canonical definition of an outstayed welcome, above Blackadder just demonstrates your total failure of taste or discernment in things comedic. Giving it more votes than One Foot in the Grave, Yes Minister, and Fawlty Towers combined proves conclusively that you are idiots and comedy is dead. Please destroy your televisions immediately.
Thanks,
Chris
I think I put in about eight votes for Blackadder last night. As the saying goes:
...and we here in the UK are perpetually tracking ten years behind the States' popular culture.
I too was disgusted by the choice of one of the least funny programmes ever made as Britain's Best Sitcom. To my mind, this sums up a lot of what is wrong with the country.
Blackadder should be more widely appreciated. Fawlty Towers I would have expected to have stood a very good chance of winning, although I personally don't find it particularly funny (more irritating than funny, it's just a little too over-the-top for me).
And excuse me, but where was 'Allo 'Allo?
At number 13:

Scandalous! It'd be okay if the entire top ten had been good, but unfortunately...
