LiveJournal users have a certain... stereotypical image, right? Like they write ten times a day about the minutiae of their daily lives, display more angst in a typical entry than most people do in a year, and are otherwise almost entirely preoccupied with inane quizzes like 'Which factor of sunblock are you?'. The attitude is pervasive: on many different websites and in many different communities I've seen the opinion expressed or implied that LJ is basically 'blogging for people with nothing to say'. Yes, that's pretty blunt, but I think it's a fair reflection of the stereotype.
By random chance I ended up eating pizza with a few LJers last night after the party, but I didn't get an opportunity to get into the subject, as I was absolutely exhausted and barely capable of stringing together rudimentary sentences. Shame, because I think the LJ stereotype may be a prejudice of mine that bears reexamination. Missed a good investigative opportunity.
Anyway, the party: a good time was had by most, pizza was eaten by some, and Matt's dancing was enjoyed by very few. Thanks everyone.
Matt's dancing never happened! I didn't get round to it unfortunately. And all the sad people (i.e. most of the people there) abandoned us before we got anywhere that dancing could be undertaken. Pathetic!
