Novel experiment

Spent an enjoyable few hours last night reading Cory Doctorow's first novel, Down and Out in the Magic Kingdom. A vaguely Snow Crash-ish jaunt through Disneyland and a future society composed almost entirely of interesting ideas -- literally -- it was a fast, enjoyable read, written by an insightful, highly computer-literate author.

The best thing about this book is the fact that you can now go and download it if you're interested. The author has released it under a Creative Commons licence, released it onto the net, and encouraged people to distribute it as widely as possible. Interesting experiment. You can download the novel in a number of different formats here.

Cory Doctorow also co-edits one of my favourite tech weblog/news sites, BoingBoing.

Okay, let's try something different. (And yes, I'm aware that after a year of no posts, any content is 'different'.) I like walks. Here's one...
