Update: That's not all... he emailed me, replying to a mail I sent to him a few days ago. And the email arrived while I was watching the excellent Christmas episode of The West Wing... a coincidence that was both spookily synchronous and indescribably cool.

You should be watching TWW anyway! It's a damn fine show. It's liberal and escapist and has far less flag-waving than you might think. It's also cleaned up at the Emmys three years running, it's an outstandingly well made TV show.
And I think an explanation is needed: I've been a massive fan of Joshua Malina since I saw him in Aaron Sorkin's other show, Sports Night, which is why I made a thing out of the news that he's joining TWW. Sorkin's dialogue is amazingly good, and *nobody* delivers it better than Joshua Malina.

Err... not sure whether it's on terrestrial at the moment, but if it is it's on Channel 4.
I'm not going to get a mobile 'cos I hate phones and especially mobiles, but I would consider getting a (cheap) device that just did SMS, if it existed. So somebody please invent one! On the other hand I did find a site that would let me send SMS messages, I'll try that again now.
A cheap device that just does SMS? A phone with the ringer turned off would fit that bill :)
I mean something built to only do SMS. Something with an actual keyboard for starters. It ought still to be cheaper to produce than a full-blown mobile phone once it became popular, I think. I'm surprised the phone and technology companies haven't put their heads together over this, since a lot of people seem to own phones purely for SMS, and mobiles are hardly the most optimal devices for that sole purpose.

The Emmys was such a nice incident to witness. Temple Grandin was so moving and reflective of reality. I've got worked in that autism world for over 12 years and it's fantastic to work out the approach this movie has uplifted countless people. I personally recognize several individuals who called me to inform me to watch this movie. Several of whom had little data concerning autism before they watched, but then ended the motion picture with a great sense of respect for people who have autism and their families. I am all regarding striveing to share information about autism too and do therefore through my website (AutismClassroom.com) that aims to help academics teach kids with autism higher!
