It wasn't to be. I had too many distractions last month, some of which might have been possible to ignore, others which were very important and time-critical.
As well as 73 pages of unfinished, badly-written story, I now have a file containing nothing but notes on how I would write the story differently. I suspect that I'll rewrite the story at a somewhat more leisurely pace, starting sometime in the near to middle future. Very little of what I wrote in November is any good, but I think there's probably a few decent ideas in there. Certainly I think that a second draft could be ten times better.
So that's it for this year on the subject of NaNoWriMo... I had fun this time around, and will probably try again next year, so I'll probably mention it again in about 10 months time. And keep the month of November 2003 free, because next year I'm going to try to persuade you to try it as well. (evil chuckling)
