Still here - mostly

Hi everyone! It's been a busy week at Trioptimum Towers, so you'll have to forgive the lack of updates... I've got a lot of stuff to do today, but I can just about spare the time to put up a few interesting links.

On the Farscape situation: we're making progress, and supposedly the men in suits are having a meeting today to discuss the future of the show. Fingers crossed... The best two articles I've read on the subject are Caitlin Kiernan's at RevolutionSF, and AntonyF's at B5TV. If you want to know why Farscape is worth trying to save, read the first article. If you want to know why we're even in the situation of having to try, read the second.

Cast and crew have been popping into the IRC channel (#farscape on irc.scifi.com) at irregular intervals, and yesterday I had a short but fascinating casual chat with one of the special effects crew, who worked on pyrotechnics and other practical effects (not to mention one jaw-droppingly impressive scene in Into the Lion's Den Part 2). Many of the cast and crew seem amazed, and touched, that people are going to such great lengths to save the show. To me it seems like the most natural thing in the world.

And if you just want a laugh, Dork Tower did a Farscape-related strip... and this month's Tachyon TV contains top-notch Farscape campaign-related satire. I've always loved that site.

That's it for the Farscape links, though... the rest of you can start reading again now.

The only mention I'm going to make of the September 11th anniversary is that on that day, writer J Michael Straczynski posted to Usenet the entire script of his famous #36 issue of Amazing Spider-Man - the issue dealing with the horrible events of that day. I still think this is one of his absolute finest pieces of writing, and you can read it here.

And with that, we're done for the day. Have a good one.
