My Windows 2000 install at work spontaneously decided to act broken today. I played with it for a half hour or so without any luck, and just as I started to consider that most severe and unpleasant of measures to fix it - a full reinstall - it chose to act perfectly normally again.

I don't mind developers endowing their software with the occasional human qualities, but I don't think maliciousness should be in there.
