Just added a ton of links to the sidebar... now it's over a screenlength long even in my maximised window... hmm. I don't know if that's a bad thing or not. All the links are good, though. I think there's a bug in IE6 - and maybe other versions - that doesn't style a page properly until it's refreshed. I've seen it a couple of times when loading up the page in IE. It seems to get cut off horizontally before the bottom of the page... if you've seen this, could you leave me a comment? I'm wondering what's causing it and whether it's in my power to fix it. But it definitely looks like a bug.
And lastly, reader Leila reports that she can't leave comments. This irks me, and is a mystery. Is her web access unusually crippled or is the comments window simply not compatible with her browser? And can this undesirable situation be amended? I shall investigate further and get to the bottom of this one, I think. The game's afoot!
Update: well, the sidebar is definitely too long now. I've cut the text down a bit, but I need to lose some links. But they're all good! What a dilemma. I'll sleep on it.
Update: okay, maybe they weren't all good. I got rid of the link to ananova.com, because I'm sick of all the Big Brother hysteria (and other 'quirky', tabloid nonsense) that it now constantly seems to perpetuate. Who'd have believed that it used to be a news site?

I think it's an isolated problem. Though I'm unsure what in particular is causing it.
