Ignore this

Today I would like to offer a hearty thank you to the driver development staff at NVidia, for including in the latest versions of the Detonator drivers the intriguing feature of completely ruining Windows' font-smoothing functionality.

The whole point of font antialiasing is to increase the definition of the characters, so when the new drivers somehow manage to reduce it from the norm, making all the labels and text in your applications look ill-defined and misshapen like the words on a fifth-generation photocopy, well, what a triumph of technology!

So, thanks for costing me a half hour in driver upgrades and then rollbacks, NVidia. Thanks for forcing me to use drivers that are nine months old and eleven major versions out of date simply because I have the unusual requirement that my desktop should not look like complete pish.
