It looks like I'm going to be really busy at work for a while, so I'm making an update... while I still can.
For lunch today we drove over to the Hemlock Stone (the pub by that name, not the... err... stone) in Wollaton. Their pub food was delicious and great value for money. Readers from Nottingham - take note! It's a nice place to do lunch and I'm glad we 'discovered' it.
(An aside: while searching the Web just now, I discovered that D. H. Lawrence mentions the Hemlock Stone (the stone, not the pub) by name in Sons and Lovers. Weird.)
I rejoined h2g2 as a researcher today. It's been well over a year since I last visited the site and I never really contributed much, but hopefully that will change this year. I love the idea that anyone can write an entry on any subject, and if it's sufficiently informative, it'll be used as a reference by people all over the globe. It truly is DNA's Guide given form, and it's an incredibly exciting project.
